Arrival & Greeting

Registration: Children can find their name and put it on the self registration board.

Free Play: children are able to choose from a broad range of resources that are located in different areas of the room including small world, easels, messy play (water, sand and soil), home corner and role play, construction, creative workshop, maths, science and ICT and malleable. We have regular access to cooking activities, jigsaws, puzzles, musical instruments and an interest table.  There is also a book corner that is a quieter area where children can rest or lie down.

Small Group Time: this particularly concentrates on games, music, turn taking and 'show and tell' in a small group.

Focus Group Time: this is time for the older children to work on phonics.

Outside Play: During this time access is available to our outside area.  This is set up with different activities daily.

The Early Bird Café: The children are free to attend the café at any time for milk or water and a healthy snack.  This is a social occassion where children can sit and chat with friends and staff.  They are encouraged to prepare their own snack, pour their own drink and tidy up their cup and plate ready for cleaning.

Tidy Up Time: children are encouraged to help tidy up. Stickers and an egg timer/music are used to encourage all children to join in.

Large Group Time: The children take part in a group activity involving action songs, games, parachute and/or music & movement.

Physical Play: i.e. bikes, slide, climbing frame, balls, hoops, music & movement etc.  Free play is also available during this time.

Story Time: children come together on the mat to listen to a story which is chosen in line with the interest or theme of that week.

Singing Time: children can join in with songs and action rhymes.

Home Time: children can choose a book to take home,  they sing the goodbye song to their friends and the session ends.
